St. Mary's Church: What's On

Weekly News

Shining Life Children’s Trust celebrate their 10th anniversary with an open evening in the Parish Centre on Saturday at 7.30pm, during which Sri Lankan refreshments will be served. This charity has long been a favourite of St. Mary’s and now there is an opportunity to enjoy a social event and to find out more about their work with Sri Lankan children. There will a plate for contributions towards the cost of the evening and to further the work of the charity.

On Sunday at 4pm OpenHouse@StMarys will be a Pets' service.

Also on Sunday, after a shortened Evensong at 6.30pm, Professor Gordon Wenham will give the last in the series of talks on ‘Making Sense of the Old Testament’, entitled 'Hope for the Nations' discussing the Book of Isaiah.

The Mothers' Union meets on Monday at 2.30pm when they will be able to meet our new Curate the Revd Leonora Hill. They hold their Corporate Communion in church on Tuesday at 9.15am.

The last phase of our church reordering will be starting shortly with the installation of cupboards, shelves and notice boards at the West end of the church. It will entail some noise and dust problems but work will be suspended during any services. It is hoped that the work will be completed before Christmas.
