Comfort and Joy is Back!

Thank you . . .

. . . to all who have supported our initiative to bring the joy of Christ’s coming to those who need it particularly this Christmas. We’ve been inundated with donations, financial and goods for the goody bags. We’re now preparing the logistics of delivering the packs to the people you’ve nominated. This will take place from Monday 20th onwards.

Once again, we shall be blessing our community over Christmas by providing a meal and a bag of seasonal treats to those who may need some extra help or may be isolated or just need some love. Although many will be planning to join their families, Christmas can be lonely if plans don’t materialise or are curtailed.

A goody bag of seasonal items and a frozen seasonal meal will be dropped off to people in the week before Christmas. The Long Table will provide the meal, we will add seasonal treats and a seasonal dessert/fruit to each package. We hope this will offer a blessing and bring a moment of joy into peoples’ lives.

There are several ways we can all support this initiative. We can nominate people and families. We can provide items for the goody bags, such as mince pies, Christmas puds, or sweets by leaving these in the box marked for that purpose at the back of church or dropped off at Erika or Anne’s house as last year. We can deliver the meals in the week leading up to Christmas (if you volunteered last year, we’ll be making contact). You can buy a package for yourself for £10, this will provide you with a lovely meal to enjoy whenever you wish, and it will also fund a free meal for someone else.
